Schmelzer (Marion/Pleasant) and sophomore Sarah Shinn (Edinboro,
Pa./General McLane) led Ohio
Wesleyan at the Otterbein Invitational, hosted
by Otterbein College on Saturday in Westerville.
DePauw won the meet with 29 points to 67 for Ohio Wesleyan. Otterbein finished third with 101 points, followed by Denison (103),
Mount Union (105), Oberlin (186), Rose-Hulman (226), Heidelberg (234) and Wilmington (252). Wittenberg rounded out the top 10 with 273 points, followed by Ohio Northern (283), Capital (285), Glenville State (390), Muskingum (419), Mount Vernon Nazarene (457) and Ohio Dominican (468).
Schmelzer finished 10th among individuals, completing the 6000-meter course
in 23:07, while Shinn followed in 11th place in a time of 23:10.

Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) placed 15th in 23:24, freshman
Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro,
Pa./General McLane) finished in 18th place in 23:37,
and junior Laura Binkley
(Columbus/Bishop Watterson) finished off the
Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 32nd-place finish in 24:16.
Freshman Rachel Newman (Strongsville) finished 48th in 24:58, and junior Valerie Sloboda (Columbia, Md./Atholton) was 50th in 25:02.
