7th of 31 at NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional

Freshman Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) led Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional championship meet, hosted by Calvin College on Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Host Calvin won the meet with 46 points to 73 points for runner-up Case Reserve. DePauw finished third with 80 points, followed by Kenyon (145), Oberlin (165), Baldwin-Wallace (226), Ohio Wesleyan (241), Anderson (244) and Denison (256). Otterbein rounded out the top 10 team finishers with 268 points.

Zimmerly finished 29th among individuals, completing the 6000-meter course in 22:56.35. Zimmerly's 29th-place finish qualified her for all-region honors.

Junior Laura Binkley (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) finished 41st in 23:19.60, junior Leah Schmelzer (Marion/Pleasant) placed 49th in 23:26.00, sophomore Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) was 57th in 23:39.15, and freshman Jesi Dackin (Reynoldsburg) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 65th-place finish in 23:45.25.

Sophomore Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) finished 77th in 24:00.80, and junior Valerie Sloboda (Columbia, Md./Atholton) finished 98th in 24:27.45.
