Bishops' Frentsos Named to
All-Region Baseball Teams

[ Zach Frentsos ]Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Zach Frentsos (Delaware/Hayes) was named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region teams, it was announced today.

Frentsos, an outfielder for the Battling Bishops, was a third-team all-region selection.

Frentsos became a fixture in centerfield and led the Bishops with a .409 batting average. He hit 1 home run and drove in 33 runs this season. Frentsos was a first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference pick.

Sophomore second baseman Josh Gardner (Youngstown/Boardman) also was honored by the ABCA, receiving a regional Gold Glove Award. Gardner saw action in 34 games at second base, taking part in 17 double plays, and made only 2 errors for a fielding percentage of .983.

Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 24-16 record. The Bishops tied for the NCAC West Division pennant and were the No.1 seed from the West Division in the NCAC tournament.
