Bishops' Boey Named Regional Coach of the Year

[ Kris Boey ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Kris Boey, Ohio Wesleyan University men's and women's track & field and cross country coach, was named Great Lakes Region Men's Coach of the Year, it was announced today by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

This marks the second straight year in which Boey was named Men's Coach of the Year for outdoor track & field.

Boey guided the Battling Bishops to their second straight North Coast Athletic Conference outdoor championship, completing an indoor-outdoor conference championship sweep for the Bishop men for the second consecutive year.

The Bishop women's team also won the NCAC outdoor championship and shared the NCAC indoor crown this year, marking first time that both Ohio Wesleyan men's and women's teams have won both indoor and outdoor conference titles in the same year.

This is Boey's sixth Regional Coach of the Year citation in the last 3 years. Earlier this year, Boey was tabbed regional Men's Coach of the Year for indoor track & field. He received women's indoor and men's outdoor honors in 2007-08, and swept women's indoor and outdoor laurels in 2006-07. Boey is in his seventh season at Ohio Wesleyan.
