Three Bishops Named to
NFHCA All-Region Teams

[ Christa Cocumelli ]Three Ohio Wesleyan University field hockey players were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region teams, it was announced by the NFHCA.

Sophomore attacker Christa Cocumelli (Dublin/Bishop Watterson) was a first-team all-region selection, while sophomore attacker Lilly Jianas (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Pembroke Hill) and freshman midfielder Alyse Marotta (Dublin/Jerome) were second-team all-region choices.

Cocumelli ranked second on the team in scoring with 5 goals and 6 assists.

Marotta ranked fifth on the team in scoring with 4 goals and converted both of the penalty strokes she attempted this season.

Jianas led the Bishops and ranked ninth in the North Coast Athletic Conference in scoring with 8 goals and 2 assists. Her 4 game-winning goals tied for second in the conference.

Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 12-7 record. The Battling Bishops finished with a 9-3 record in NCAC competition, finishing in second place in the final league standings, and advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
