Sophomore attacker Christa Cocumelli (Dublin/Bishop Watterson) scored twice as Ohio Wesleyan built a 3-0 lead and went on to defeat Denison in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Thursday in Granville.

The Bishops took a 1-0 lead when sophomore attacker Lilly Jianas (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Pembroke Hill) tallied an unassisted goal in the 14th minute.

Cocumelli extended the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 2-0 with a goal in the waning seconds of the first period, then found the back of the Big Red cage early in the second half to make it 3-0, with freshman attacker Abigail Walsh (Millville, Mass./Blackstone-Millville) credited with an assist on the latter score.

Denison outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 10-5. Junior Krista Murray (Rochester Hills, Mich./University Liggett) turned away 4 Denison shots in blanking the Big Red through the first 57-plus minutes of action, and freshman Liz Searfos (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) finished up in the Ohio Wesleyan cage. For Denison, Kristie Hart played the first half and Kait Fiore the second half in the Big Red goal.
