[ Lilly Jianas ]Sophomore attacker Lilly Jianas (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Pembroke Hill) put Ohio Wesleyan on the scoreboard and the Bishop defense made the lead stand as Ohio Wesleyan edged Earlham in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday in Richmond, Ind.

The win extended Ohio Wesleyan's NCAC record to 3-0, keeping the Bishops in a tie for first place in the league standings.

Jianas scored just over 8 minutes into the game, with freshman attacker Mimi Anthony (Millbrook, N.Y./Millbrook School) credited with an assist on the play.

The defense took over from there, allowing only 4 shots on the day. Junior Krista Murray (Rochester Hills, Mich./University Liggett) turned away 2 Quaker shots in recording the shutout, and sophomore midfielder Jessica Wright (Lancaster) was credited with a defensive save, preserving the Bishop lead.

Katherine McDonough recorded 3 saves for Earlham.
