![]() 13th of 29 at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate March 29, 2009 Methodist won the tournament with a total of 844, edging Oglethorpe by 5 shots. Johnson & Wales was third with an 857, followed by Berry (859), Savannah Art & Design (862), Lee (865), Guilford (869), Fayetteville State (872), and Northwood (873). Webber International rounded out the top 10 teams with an 878, followed by Greensboro (881), Shorter (882), Ohio Wesleyan (884), DePauw and Clarion (892), and Lynchburg (897). The tournament is played on two courses, with each team playing one round on the Paradise Point Scarlet course and one round on the Paradise Point Gold course. The top half of the field after the second round goes on to play the third round on the Gold course and the bottom half plays the third round on the Scarlet course. Hampden-Sydney led the teams that finished the tournament on the Scarlet course, finishing with an 869. Bridgewater was next with an 879, followed by Christopher Newport (883), Centre (884), California (Pa.) (892), Washington & Lee (895), Randolph-Macon (896), Millersville (905), Reinhardt (914), Nassau and Shenandoah (921), and Virginia Wesleyan (924). Louisburg did not record a team score. Nieman finished with a 215, tying for 12th place among individuals who finished the tournament on the Gold course. Junior Peter Joyce (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) and senior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights) finishing among a tie for 45th place at 222, with Joyce's total including a second-round 69 on the Scarlet course. Junior Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) finished in 65th place at 225, including a second-round 70, and junior Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) carded a 235 to finish in 75th place. |
