1st of 8 at Oberlin Invitational

[ Jeff Nieman ]Senior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) and junior Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) finished 1-2 among individuals to lead Ohio Wesleyan to the team title at the Oberlin Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday and Sunday.

The 36-hole tournament is the second of 4 events which will determine the 2008-09 North Coast Athletic Conference championship.

Ohio Wesleyan won the tournament with a total of 581, defeating second-place Wittenberg by 26 shots. Allegheny finished third with a 608, followed by Denison (626), Wabash (634), Wooster (647), Kenyon (653) and Hiram (709).

Nieman won medalist honors, shooting a second-round 70 to finish with a 142.

Harman finished in second place, one shot behind Nieman at 143, senior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights) shot a 146, junior Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) carded a 150 and junior Jordan Benner (Beavercreek) finished with a 163.
