7th of 12 at Gordin Collegiate Classic

[ Tommy Harman ]Junior Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Gordin Collegiate Classic, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday and Monday at Cannon Ridge Golf Club in Fredericksburg, Va.

The tournament annually matches many of the top finishers from the previous spring's NCAA Division III championship tournament.

Huntingdon won the tournament, shooting a second-round 287 to finishing at 569 and defeat Methodist by 2 shots. Skidmore placed third with a 582, followed by Illinois Wesleyan (585), Emory (590), St. John's (Minn.) (592), Ohio Wesleyan (596), Oglethorpe (600), Transylvania (605), Mary Hardin-Baylor (612), Wesley (630) and St. John Fisher (632).

Methodist's Josh Schrader, who fired a first-round 64, won medalist honors with a 137.

Harman tied for 13th place among individuals with a total of 147. Senior Andy Schillig (Pataskala/Licking Heights) tied for 18th place with a 148, senior Jeff Nieman (Maineville/Cincinnati Moeller) tied for 35th place at 152, and junior Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) and junior Jordan Benner (Beavercreek) tied for 39th place at 154.
