![]() Ohio Wesleyan 26, Hendrix 1 Feb. 20, 2009 Gallagher scored an unassisted goal during the first minute of the game, and after a score by junior attacker Rob Young (Langhorne, Pa./Council Rock South), Gallagher found Zimmerman for a score that made it 3-0 less than 5 minutes into the contest. Zimmerman added 2 more goals and junior midfielder Chaz Narwicz (Yardley, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) and junior midfielder Chris Ehlinger (Radnor, Pa.) added a goal apiece during the period, which ended with the Bishops holding a 7-0 lead. Junior attacker Dave Castignola (Dublin/Scioto) had a goal and an assist during the second quarter, which also featured a man-up goal by Young. The Bishops broke the game open during the third period, scoring 6 times during the first 4 minutes of the quarter. Gallagher scored twice, while senior midfielder Connor McGowan (Worthington/Thomas Worthington), Narwicz, Zimmerman, and Castignola added a goal apiece. Zimmerman led the Bishops with 4 goals and an assist, while Gallagher and Castignola each contributed 3 goals and 2 assists. Narwicz rang up a hat trick, Young finished with 2 goals and 2 assists, and McGowan scored twice. John McDonnell provided the Warriors' goal, finding the back of the net with :03 left in the game. Sophomore Jud Hall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) had 1 save while blanking the Warriors during the first half, freshman Dan Huckins (Commack, N.Y./Northfield-Mount Hermon (Mass.)) made 2 saves in 18-plus minutes of scoreless second-half action, and sophomore Frankie Weschler (Wilmette, Ill./Loyola Academy) had 1 save in the fourth quarter. Keith Clemens went the distance in the Hendrix goal and collected 25 saves. |
