Junior midfielder Chaz Narwicz (Yardley, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) evened the game at 1-1 with an unassisted goal exactly a minute later, and Gallagher helped put the Bishops ahead to stay, finding junior attacker Dave Castignola (Dublin/Scioto) for a man-up goal with 8:36 left in the quarter. Gallagher and junior midfielder Craig Aronoff (Potomac, Md./The Bullis School) followed with goals as Ohio Wesleyan led, 4-1, after the first quarter, and junior midfielder Chris Ehlinger (Radnor, Pa.) and senior attacker Karl Zimmerman (Utica, Mich./Brother Rice) added scores in the opening moments of the second quarter, extending the Bishop lead to 6-1, with the 6 Ohio Wesleyan goals scored by 6 different players. Buck McKenna brought Colorado College within 6-2 early in the second quarter, but the Bishops countered with their 7-0 run. Castignola started the Bishop scoring spree with a goal off a feed from junior attacker Rob Young (Langhorne, Pa./Council Rock South). Zimmerman, junior midfielder Alex Razzolini (East Aurora, N.Y./Iroquois), and Young scored goals in a span of 38 seconds, and senior midfielder Connor McGowan (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) added a goal for a 12-2 Ohio Wesleyan lead midway through the second period. After a stretch in which the Bishops successfully killed a 2-man-down situation, Ehlinger and junior midfielder Andy Princehorn (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) tacked on goals for a 14-2 Bishop lead. Narwicz scored twice as the Bishops added 5 goals during the third quarter, and Castignola, McGowan, and Aronoff tallied goals during the fourth quarter. Castignola and Narwicz scored 3 goals apiece for Ohio Wesleyan, with Narwicz also collecting an assist. Young had 2 goals and 3 assists, Zimmerman finished with 2 goals and 2 assists, and Gallagher and McGowan each contributed 2 goals and an assist. Razzolini finished with 2 goals. Sophomore Jud Hall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) recorded 7 saves during the first 49 minutes for Ohio Wesleyan. Freshman Dan Huckins (Commack, N.Y./Northfield-Mount Hermon (Mass.)) had 3 saves and sophomore Frankie Weschler (Wilmette, Ill./Loyola Academy) made 1 save in the fourth quarter. Christman led Colorado College with 3 goals, while Hunter Sprole added 2 goals and an assist. Scott MacArthur stopped 10 shots during the first 3 quarters, while Max Pluss had 3 saves during the fourth quarter. |
