![]() Four Bishops Named to March 19, 2009 Sophomore forward Tyler Wall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) was a first-team All-Ohio pick, sophomore midfielder Brian Greene (Beavercreek) and junior back Kevin McGowan (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) were second-team All-Ohio selections, and senior back T.J. Trigg (Westerville/North) was a third-team All-Ohio choice. Wall shared the team lead in scoring with 9 goals and 5 assists, including 3 game-winning goals. His 23 points tied for fourth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Wall was a second-team All-Ohio pick in 2007. Greene ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 7 goals and an assist, and his 4 game-winning goals ranked second on the team and tied for second in the NCAC. McGowan and Trigg helped lead an Ohio Wesleyan defense that allowed only 22 goals in 24 games and compiled 11 shutouts. Trigg also contributed 5 goals and 2 assists on the offensive end of the pitch. The Battling Bishops finished with a record of 18-5-1. Ohio Wesleyan won the NCAC championship with a 9-0 record, the Bishops' 17th title in the 25 seasons of NCAC competition, and won the NCAC tournament title, sending the Bishops to the NCAA Division III tournament for the NCAA-record 31st time. Ohio Wesleyan advanced to the sectional semifinals (final 16) of the NCAA Division III tournament. |
