Freshman Kevin Kahn (New Albany) was a double winner, but Allegheny defeated Ohio Wesleyan in a non-divisional matchup of North Coast Athletic Conference opponents on Saturday at the OWU Tennis Centre.
Kahn won in straight sets at No. 1 singles, taking the first set 7-6 (7-4) and the second set by a score of 6-4. He combined with sophomore Scott Hellberg (Sarver, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles.
Freshman Ryan Leslie (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's other win, bouncing back from losing the first set, 2-6, to win the second set, 6-2, and win a super tiebreaker by a score of 11-9 at No. 6 singles. Leslie and sophomore Zach Weaver (Westerville/South) lost in a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles, falling by scores of 9-8 (7-1).
Junior Brandon Luttinger (Hingham, Mass.) lost in a super tiebreaker at No. 3 singles, losing the first set, 6-3, then winning the second set, 6-0, before falling, 10-3 in the tiebreaker.
