[ Scott Hellberg ]Sophomore Scott Hellberg (Sarver, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) was a double winner as Ohio Wesleyan took a 4-3 lead, but Wittenberg won the last 2 doubles flights to escape with a win over the Bishops in a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division match on Tuesday in Springfield.

Hellberg won in straight sets at No. 4 singles, while senior Daniel Thangarajah (Dublin/Scioto) and junior Brandon Luttinger (Hingham, Mass.) recorded split-set wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles respectively, with Luttinger coming back after losing the first set to take the second and third sets.

With singles play completed and the score tied at 3-3, Hellberg combined with freshman Kevin Kahn (New Albany) for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, giving the Bishops a 4-3 lead.

Wittenberg's Stephane Antwi and Derek de Rie defeated Luttinger and Thangarajah by a score of 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, and the match came down to No. 3 doubles, where Wittenberg's Bobby Fisher and Andy Lamb came from behind to defeat sophomore Zach Weaver (Westerville/South) and freshman Ryan Leslie (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) by a 9-8 margin.
