Kahn and Luttinger teamed up to record an 8-5 win over Allegheny's Matt Chiricosta and Benjamin Hurtuk at No. 1 doubles. Kahn then won at No. 1 singles, storming back after losing the first set, 6-4, to take the second set, 6-1, and building a 4-0 lead in the third set before Chiricosta retired. Luttinger recorded a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, defeating Zachary Kerosky by scores of 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore Scott Hellberg (Sarver, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) and senior Daniel Thangarajah (Dublin/Scioto) posted an 8-5 win over Jacob Allmaras and Ryan Zipf at No. 2 doubles, and freshman Ryan Leslie (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) defeated Nick Darrow at No. 6 singles by scores of 7-5, 6-2. With the win, Ohio Wesleyan advances to the consolation final against Wooster at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Ohio Wesleyan-Wooster winner will finish fifth in the final conference standings, with the loser taking sixth place. |
