Luttinger (Hingham, Mass.), senior Daniel Thangarajah (Dublin/Scioto), sophomore Scott Hellberg (Sarver, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic), freshman Max Razmakhin (Voronezh, Russia/Lyceum #2) and freshman Ryan Leslie (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) were double winners as Ohio Wesleyan opened its season with a win over Heidelberg on Tuesday at the OWU Tennis Centre.
Luttinger recorded a split-set decision at No. 1 singles and Thangarajah won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, and the duo combined for a win at No. 2 doubles.
Hellberg and Razmakhin posted respective wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles and teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles, and Leslie won at No. 6 singles and paired with sophomore Zach Weaver (Westerville/South) to win at No. 3 doubles.
Senior Taimour Khan (Lahore, Pakistan/Aitchison) completed the Ohio Wesleyan sweep with a straight-set win at No. 5 singles.
