[ Brandon Luttinger ]With 4 returning lettermen and a talented group of newcomers, sixth-year Ohio Wesleyan men's tennis coach Tom Haddow looks to improve upon last year's 7-14 overall record and eighth-place finish in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Junior Brandon Luttinger (Hingham, Mass.) and senior Daniel Thangarajah (Dublin/Scioto) return at the top of the Battling Bishop ladder.

Luttinger, who was 5-9 at No. 2 singles last year, moves up to the No. 1 spot in the lineup.

Thangarajah posted a 9-6 record at No. 3 singles, the Bishops' highest individual win total at any flight, and his 11 overall wins shared the team lead.

Senior Taimour Khan (Lahore, Pakistan/Aitchison), who went 7-5 at No. 4 singles last season, will provide additional leadership and stability in the ladder during the fall semester before graduating in December.

Sophomore Zach Weaver (Westerville/South), who went 3-6 in splitting the No. 6 singles spot last year, will seek to claim a spot on a full-time basis.

[ Daniel Thangarajah ]Incoming players who could make an impact immediately include sophomore Scott Hellberg (Sarver, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic), freshman Max Razmakhin (Voronezh, Russia/Lyceum #2), freshman Ryan Leslie (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South), and freshman Kevin Kahn (New Albany).

Freshman Peter O'Connor (Concord, Mass./Cushing Academy), and freshman Solomon Ryan (Pelham Manor, N.Y./Soundview) round out the Bishop roster.

The Bishops will have an entirely new look in doubles. Khan and Thangarajah comprise the only doubles team from 2007-08 to return this season.

The Bishops begin their season on Sept. 23 against Heidelberg. The fall season concludes with matches against Wilmington and Ohio Dominican. The spring season opens in mid-February and concludes with the NCAC tournament at Kenyon on April 24-26.
