Senior Daniel Thangarajah (Dublin/Scioto) and sophomore Scott Hellberg (Sarver, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) recorded singles wins to lead the Bishops in a non-conference match against Ohio Dominican on Thursday in Columbus.

Thangarajah outdueled Ohio Dominican's Joseph Klank in a marathon at No. 2 singles, with Klank winning the first set in a tiebreaker before Thangarajah fought back to win the second set in a tiebreaker, then won a super tiebreaker to take the match.

Hellberg, meanwhile, cruised to a straight-set win over Michael Simon at No. 3 singles.

Freshman Ryan Leslie (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) and sophomore Zach Weaver (Westerville/South) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's other win, teaming up for a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.

Ohio Wesleyan came up short in a pair of tiebreakers that could have decided the match's outcome in the Bishops' favor. Thangarajah and freshman Max Razmakhin (Voronezh, Russia/Lyceum #2) were defeated in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles, and at No. 6 singles, Leslie lost the third set in a tiebreaker after splitting a pair of 6-4 decisions.
