Kentucky State finished third with 84 points, followed by Capital (78), Washington & Jefferson (59 1/2) and Muskingum (41). Burke won the triple jump and the long jump with respective efforts of 45-5 and 22-3 3/4. He also finished second in the high jump. Faris won the shot put and the weight throw with marks of 46-9 and 37-3 3/4 respectively. Also winning events for Ohio Wesleyan were freshman Phillip Forsgren (Vienna, Austria/American International), who won the pole vault by clearing 10-0 and added a third in the 400-meter dash; senior David Stefanik (Wooster), who won the mile run in 4:30.37 and finished third in the 3000-meter run; freshman A.J. Sayed (Punta Gorda, Fla./Charlotte), who took the 400-meter dash in :53.17; freshman Kyle Lemke (Loudonville), who won the 800-meter run in 2:02.46; and junior Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford), who won the 60-meter hurdles in :08.37. The Bishop 800-meter relay team of senior Ryan Ellis (Columbus/Dublin Scioto), sophomore Sean Patrick (Delaware/Hayes), sophomore Jordon Exeter (Toronto, Ontario/Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy), and senior Nathan Osborn (Edgerton) clocked a 1:31.63 to win its event, and the 1600-meter relay team of freshman Ben Andrews (Delaware/Hayes), freshman Sharif Kronemer (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook), senior Garret Andre-Johnson (Walnut Creek, Calif./Berkeley), and freshman John Batchelder (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) followed suit, winning its event in 3:31.18. Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Kyle Herman (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), who placed second in the 800-meter run; freshman Kale Booher (Covington/Newton), who was second in the mile run; freshman Jon Rux (North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View), who finished second in the weight throw; Kronemer, who was third in the 800-meter run; Batchelder, who placed third in the mile run; junior Bryce Mathias (Centerburg), who finished third in 60-meter hurdles; senior Bobby Polley (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), who placed third in the weight throw; Patrick, who finished fourth in the 60- and 200-meter dashes; freshman David Franklin (Reynoldsburg), who was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles; sophomore Parone Mulrain (Chicago, Ill./Latin School), who finished fourth in the triple jump; Exeter, who placed fifth in the 60- and 200-meter dashes and tied for fifth in the long jump; senior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne), who placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump; junior Scott Hassee (Norwalk), who was fifth in the 500-meter run; Andrews, who was fifth in the 800-meter run; senior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman), who finished fifth in the mile run; senior John Wessel (Parma/Valley Forge), who placed fifth in the shot put; and senior Brandon Hunter (Twinsburg), who was fifth in the weight throw. |
