at Kent State Tune-Up

[ Kyle Faris ]Junior Kyle Faris (Olmsted Falls) set a school record and freshman Sharif Kronemer (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) won an event to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Kent State Tune-Up, hosted by Kent State University on Saturday in Kent.

The meet was not scored.

Faris finished 17th in the weight throw, with his heave of 48-0 breaking the school record of 46-11 3/4 he set last week at the All-Ohio Division III championship meet. He also finished 18th in the shot put with a throw of 45-10.

Kronemer won the 600-meter run in a time of 1:22.66.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Ben Andrews (Delaware/Hayes), who placed fifth in the 600-meter run; junior Bryce Mathias (Centerburg), who was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles; junior David Burke (Hudson), who placed seventh in the triple jump and 12th in the long jump; freshman Kyle Lemke (Loudonville), who was 12th in the 800-meter run; sophomore Parone Mulrain (Chicago, Ill./Latin School), who finished 14th in the triple jump; senior Preston Osborn (Edgerton), who placed 14th in the 300-meter hurdles; senior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman), who was 16th in the 3000-meter run; junior Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford), who finished 16th in the 60-meter hurdles; senior Garret Andre-Johnson (Walnut Creek, Calif./Berkeley), who was 21st in the mile run; freshman Evan Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern), who placed 21st in the 3000-meter run; senior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne), who placed 22nd in the 60-meter hurdles; senior David Stefanik (Wooster), who was 23rd in the 3000-meter run; freshman Kale Booher (Covington/Newton), who finished 24th in the mile run; sophomore Sean Patrick (Delaware/Hayes), who tied for 24th place in the 60-meter dash; and sophomore Jordon Exeter (Toronto, Ontario/Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy), who tied for 24th place in the 60-meter dash.
