Junior Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford) won an event and the Bishop 1600-meter relay team of sophomore Sean Patrick (Delaware/Hayes), senior Nathan Osborn (Edgerton), senior Ryan Ellis (Columbus/Dublin Scioto), and senior Preston Osborn (Edgerton) surpassed a provisional qualifying standard to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Gator Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College on Friday in Meadville, Pa.

The meet was not scored.

Brown won the 110-meter hurdles in :15.09.

The Bishop 1600-meter relay team finished third in 3:15.98, surpassing the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III championship meet to be held May 21-23 at Marietta.

Other standouts for the Bishops included junior David Burke (Hudson), who finished third in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump; senior Jon Smith (Clyde/Bellevue), who tied for third in the pole vault; and Preston Osborn, who placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles.
