Senior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) surpassed 2 qualifying standards for the NCAA Division III championship meet in competing at the Gregory multi-event meet, hosted by North Central College on Tuesday and Wednesday in Naperville, Ill.

Bloom compiled 6176 points, topping the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III championship meet to be held May 21-23 at Marietta. He finished ninth in the final standings.

Bloom had the meet's best efforts in the javelin (190-9) and the 110-meter hurdles. His throw of 190-9 also was a provisional qualifying mark for the national championship meet. Bloom's time of :11.33 in the 100-meter dash was fourth-best in the meet, and his 4:47.85 in the 1500-meter run was fifth overall.
