The Bishop 1600-meter relay team of sophomore Sean Patrick (Delaware/Hayes), senior Nathan Osborn (Edgerton), senior Ryan Ellis (Columbus/Dublin Scioto), and senior Preston Osborn (Edgerton) surpassed a provisional qualifying standard to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Gregory Invitational, hosted by North Central College on Thursday and Friday in Naperville, Ill.

The meet was not scored.

The 1600-meter relay team finished fifth in 3:15.89, surpassing the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III championship meet to be held May 21-23 at Marietta.

Junior David Burke (Hudson) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's top individual finish, placing fourth in the long jump with a leap of 22-5 1/4. He also finished eighth in the triple jump with an effort of 45- 1/4.

Preston Osborn finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in :54.55, junior Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford) was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in :14.93, junior Bryce Mathias (Centerburg) finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in :54.87, and senior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) placed eighth in the javelin with a throw of 173-7.
