1st of 3 at Dayton Meijer Flyer 5K

Junior Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Meijer Flyer 5K Challenge on Saturday at Indian Riffle Park in Dayton.

Ohio Wesleyan won the College Division of the meet, compiling 27 points to 46 for Wittenberg. Rio Grande finished third with 59 points and Urbana did not have a team score.

Schlabach finished third among College Division individuals, covering the 5000-meter course in 16:28.

Senior David Stefanik (Wooster) placed fourth in 16:35, freshman Evan Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was fifth in 16:39, senior Gary Brenneman (Fredericktown) placed seventh in 17:07, and senior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) completed the Bishop scoring with an eighth-place finish in 17:09.

Freshman John Batchelder (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) finished 10th in 17:13 and sophomore John Thatcher (Centerburg) was 11th in 17:15.
