Junior Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Great Lakes Colleges Association championship meet, hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday in Oberlin.

Hope won the meet with 57 points, edging runner-up Denison's total of 59 points. Host Oberlin was third with 74 points, followed by Wabash (89), Ohio Wesleyan (91), Albion (116), Earlham (205) and Kalamazoo (255).

Schlabach finished fifth among individuals, covering the 8000-meter course in 26:42.

Senior David Stefanik (Wooster) placed 18th in 27:10, senior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman) was 19th in 27:12, freshman Evan Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was 21st in 27:14.62, and senior Gary Brenneman (Fredericktown) completed the Bishop scoring with a 28th-place finish in 27:32.

Sophomore Cody Morrison (Caldwell) finished 48th in 28:08.65 and freshman John Batchelder (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) placed 52nd in 28:12.81.
