6th of 10 at NCAC championship

Senior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman), freshman Evan Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and senior David Stefanik (Wooster) received All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in leading the Bishops at the NCAC championship meet, hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday in Oberlin.

Allegheny won the meet with 34 points to 66 for second-place Denison. Wabash was third with 93 points, followed by Kenyon (102), Oberlin (108), Ohio Wesleyan (114), Wittenberg (218), Wooster (233), Earlham (278) and Hiram (288).

Davis finished 12th among individuals, completing the 8000-meter course in 25:41.6 to win second-team all-conference honors.

Hitchcock placed 18th in 25:54.5, followed by Stefanik in 19th place at 25:56.1, with both runners taking honorable mention all-conference laurels.

Freshman John Batchelder (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne) was 34th in 26:19.4, and junior Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 35th-place finish in 26:20.5.

Senior Garret Andre-Johnson (Walnut Creek, Calif./Berkeley) placed 43rd in 26:34.7 and senior Gary Brenneman (Fredericktown) was 44th in 26:37.2.
