Bishop Relay Teams Named
NCAC Players of Week

[ Rachael Newman ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- The Ohio Wesleyan University 1600-meter relay teams have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 2, it was announced by the NCAC.

The men's 1600-meter relay team of senior Preston Osborn (Edgerton), senior Ryan Ellis (Columbus/Dublin Scioto), sophomore Sean Patrick (Delaware/Hayes), and senior Nathan Osborn (Edgerton) won its event in 3:26.92, finishing just 64/100 of a second off the NCAC Relays meet record. The win helped Ohio Wesleyan win the NCAC Relays title for the third time in the last 4 seasons.

The women's 1600-meter relay team of sophomore Rachael Newman (Strongsville), sophomore Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve), sophomore Rowena Jones (Shutesbury, Mass./Amherst Regional), and junior Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) won its event in 4:10.30 at the NCAC Relays meet on Saturday in Granville. That foursome also finished second in the 800-meter relay. Those finishes helped the Bishops win their third straight NCAC Relays championship.
