Bishops' Brown, Davis, Faris, Rymut, Zimmerly
Named NCAC Players of Week

[ Steve Brown ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University junior Steve Brown (Redford Township, Mich./Redford), senior Clay Davis (Dublin/Coffman), junior Kyle Faris (Olmsted Falls), junior Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), and sophomore Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of April 13, it was announced by the NCAC.

Brown, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named Men's Sprinter/Hurdler of the Week. At the All-Ohio Division III championship meet on Saturday, he won the 110-meter hurdles in :14.73, setting an All-Ohio championship meet record and surpassing the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III championship meet to be held May 21-23 at Marietta.

Davis, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named Men's Distance Runner of the Week. At the All-Ohio Division III championship meet on Saturday, he won the 10,000-meter run in a time of 32:11.75.

Faris, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named Men's Field Event Performer of the Week. At the All-Ohio Division III championship meet on Saturday, he finished third in the hammer with a throw of 145-9, breaking his own school record of 143-6 set earlier this season. Faris also finished seventh in the discus and eighth in the shot put.

Rymut, a member of the Battling Bishop women's track & field team, was named Women's Field Event Performer of the Week. At the All-Ohio Division III championship meet on Saturday, she won the discus with a throw of 128-7 and added a fourth-place finish in the hammer.

Zimmerly, a member of the Battling Bishop women's track & field team, was named Women's Distance/Middle Distance Runner of the Week. At the All-Ohio Division III championship meet on Saturday, she won the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:37.20.
