Bishops' Bloom, Osborn, Struble, Zimmerly
Named NCAC Players of Week

[ Andrew Bloom ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University senior Andrew Bloom (Powell/Worthington Kilbourne), senior Nathan Osborn (Edgerton), junior Matthew Struble (Defiance/Edon), and sophomore Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of April 27, it was announced by the NCAC.

Bloom, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named NCAC Men's Field Event Performer of the Week. He won his third straight NCAC decathlon title, compiling 6270 points for a margin of victory of more than 200 points. Bloom's 6270 points broke his own school record of 5804 set last year, and surpassed the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division III championship meet to be held May 21-23 at Marietta.

Osborn, a member of the Battling Bishop men's track & field team, was named NCAC Men's Sprinter of the Week. At the Denison Last Chance meet on Friday, he won the 200-meter dash in :22.53 and helped the Ohio Wesleyan 400-meter relay team win its event in :42.89.

Struble, a member of the Battling Bishop baseball team, was named NCAC Pitcher of the Week. He pitched the first 6.0 innings in Ohio Wesleyan's 8-2 win over Wittenberg on Sunday, striking out 1 and walking 1, to collect the win as the Bishops clinched the No. 1 seed from the NCAC West Division in the upcoming conference tournament.

Zimmerly, a member of the Battling Bishop women's track & field team, was named NCAC Women's Distance Runner of the Week. At the Denison Last Chance meet on Friday, she won the 1500-meter run in 5:01.41.
