Bishops' Bean, Kiefer Named
NCAC Players of Week

[ Alexa Bean ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Alexa Bean (Columbus/Upper Arlington) and freshman Taylor Kiefer (North Canton/Hoover) have been named North Coast Athletic Conference Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 6, it was announced by the NCAC.

Bean, an outside hitter on the Bishop volleyball team, recorded kills to end the first and second sets as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Kenyon, 3-1, in NCAC action on Wednesday. She led the Bishops with 11 kills and 4 blocks. In an NCAC win at Oberlin on Friday, she led the Bishop offense with 11 kills and the Bishop defense with 20 digs. Bean finished the week with 9 kills, 1 assist, 9 digs, and 1 block assist in a 3-1 NCAC win over Denison on Saturday. On the week, she compiled 31 kills and 32 digs as Ohio Wesleyan extended its winning streaks to 3 straight conference matches and 4 matches overall.

Kiefer, a forward on the Bishop men's soccer team, scored the game-winning just over 5 minutes into the action in a 3-0 NCAC win at Hiram on Saturday. Kiefer later converted a second-half penalty kick for his second goal of the game.
