[ Sarah Cook ]Junior shortstop Sarah Cook (Sidney/Fairlawn) drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning and junior lefthander Rachel Seibel (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) struck out 10 in working the complete game as Ohio Wesleyan edged Wheaton on Wednesday in Fort Myers, Fla.

Seibel and Wheaton's Andrea Bagley traded zeroes through the first 6 innings before the Lyons scratched out a run in the top of the seventh. Kristen Hunt led off with a single but was forced at second by Stacey Kelleher. Seibel got Brady Benton to pop up for the second out, but Nicole DeRosa coaxed a walk and Katy Salka followed with a single to center, scoring Kelleher for a 1-0 Wheaton lead and the first run allowed by Seibel in 3 outings this season.

The Bishops responded in the bottom of the inning when sophomore shortstop Kaylie Titus (East Hampton, N.Y.) lined a one-out single, moved to second on a passed ball, and scored on a single by junior second baseman Devon Walker (Baltimore/Watkins Memorial).

Wheaton took the lead in the top of the ninth when Hunt led off with a single to center, scoring Marissa Hobocan, who was placed on second to start the inning. Seibel allowed a bunt single later in the inning but got out of the frame without any further damage.

In the bottom of the ninth, freshman third baseman Ashley Allen (Richwood/North Union) reached on a throwing error by Wheaton shortstop Salka, moving junior outfielder Amanda Sanders (Lima/Bath) to third. After Allen stole second, junior third baseman Rita Cook (Sidney/Fairlawn) drove in the tying run with a pinch-hit single. Sarah Cook followed with a single to center, scoring Allen with the winning run.

Seibel struck out 10 and walked 1 in working the complete game.

Bagley pitched the complete game for Wheaton, fanning 9 and walking 1.
