[ Sarah Cook ]Junior shortstop Sarah Cook (Sidney/Fairlawn) drove in 2 runs and junior second baseman Devon Walker (Baltimore/Watkins Memorial) went 3-for-3 as Ohio Wesleyan extended its winning streak to 5 games with a win over Rockford on Friday in Cape Coral, Fla.

Cook gave the Bishops a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with an RBI double, scoring sophomore shortstop Kaylie Titus (East Hampton, N.Y.), who had singled and moved to second on a sacrifice by freshman third baseman Ashley Allen (Richwood/North Union).

Walker opened the second with a double and later scored on a single by junior second baseman Emily Bradley (Columbus/Upper Arlington), and the Bishops added 3 runs in the third, with junior third baseman Rita Cook (Sidney/Fairlawn) doubling home one run, sophomore catcher Sarah Truchan (Westfield Center/Brunswick) plating another with an infield out, and Walker capping the rally with an RBI single.

Ohio Wesleyan pushed across 3 more runs in the fourth, with Sarah Cook and Walker each driving RBI singles during the frame.

Walker was 3-for-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI, while Sarah Cook went 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Titus was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Freshman righthander Lauren McIntire (Marysville/Buckeye Valley) and freshman righthander Britt Rhea (Mount Vernon) combined on a 1-hit shutout, with McIntire working the first 4.0 innings to collect the win.

Aletha Cunningham pitched the complete game for Rockford.
