Mudge rang up an unassisted goal less than a minute later, putting Ohio Wesleyan ahead to stay, and Copeland finished off the first half with an unassisted score with 1:16 left in the half, giving the Bishops a 7-5 lead at halftime.

Sophomore midfielder Marlowe Mavian (Columbus/Wellington) opened the second half with a score to extend the Ohio Wesleyan lead to 8-5, but the Bearcats came back, pulling to within 8-7 on Anne Roslonski's goal midway through the half, and the Bearcats were still within 9-8 after Mudge and St. Vincent's Kelly Naugle traded goals.

Ohio Wesleyan then slammed the door on the Bearcats by scoring the last 4 goals of the game, with Rohr, Enders, Mudge, and Copeland each scoring once during the game-ending run.
