Six Bishops Picked to
All-NCAC Women's Lax Teams

[ Hannah Mudge ]DELAWARE, Ohio -- A total of 6 Ohio Wesleyan University women's lacrosse players were named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams, it was announced today.

Senior midfielder Hannah Mudge (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School) and junior defender Lauren Rogers (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) were first-team all-conference choices, junior midfielder Jessica Copeland (Ligonier, Pa./Foxcroft (Va.)) was a second-team all-conference selection, and junior defender Laura Bartholomae (Chicago, Ill./Shaker Heights (Ohio)), junior defender Dani Beauford (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) and freshman defender Natalie Fisher (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) were honorable mention picks.

Mudge led the Bishops and the NCAC in scoring with 50 goals and 16 assists for an average of 4.71 points per game. She led the NCAC in assists per game (1.14) and tied for second in game-winning goals (3). Mudge was a second-team all-conference pick in 2008 and 2006.

Rogers led the Bishops and ranked third in the NCAC in ground balls per game (2.43), and was third in the conference in caused turnovers per game (1.43). She also contributed 12 goals and 7 assists on the offensive end.

Copeland ranked second on the team in scoring with 34 goals and 4 assists.

Bartholomae, Beauford, and Fisher were starters on the Bishop defense. Bartholomae collected 24 ground balls, Beauford ranked second on the team with 28 ground balls, and Fisher had 25 ground balls and ranked second in the NCAC in caused turnovers with an average of 1.71 per game.

Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 7-7 record. The Battling Bishops went 3-3 in the NCAC this season, finishing in a 3-way tie for third place the NCAC regular-season race, but lost a tiebreaker and did not qualify for the conference tournament.
