[ Brittany Coss ]Senior defender Brittany Coss (Grove City) put the Bishops on the scoreboard and freshman forward Makinzie Krebsbach (Vadnais Heights, Minn./Totino-Grace) added an insurance goal as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Pitt-Bradford in the first round of the Fisher Tournament, hosted by St. John Fisher on Friday in Pittsford, N.Y.

The win moves Ohio Wesleyan into Saturday's tournament championship game, where the Battling Bishops will take on host St. John Fisher, a 2-0 winner over Rhode Island College in Friday's other first-round matchup.

Coss gave the Bishops a 1-0 lead when she ripped a 23-yard rocket into the Panther goal in the 30th minute.

Krebsbach added an insurance goal in the 61st minute, taking a pass from junior defender Megan Goodrich (Seven Hills/Laurel School) and finishing the chance.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Pitt-Bradford, 31-4. Sophomore Carly Topper (Novi, Mich./Greenhills), making her collegiate debut in goal, had 2 saves in completing the shutout. Autumn Zigarski finished with 14 saves for the Panthers.

Saturday's championship game will mark the first-ever meeting between St. John Fisher and Ohio Wesleyan in women's soccer.
