[ Michelle Corbett ]Senior forward Michelle Corbett (Dublin/Scioto) contributed a goal and an assist as Ohio Wesleyan pared a 3-0 deficit to 3-2 with less than 10 minutes to play, but Capital held on to record a non-conference win over the Bishops on Wednesday in Columbus.

The Crusaders got on the scoreboard on Kellie Gustin's goal in the fifth minute, then stretched the lead as Molly Sheils tallied an unassisted goal in the 26th minute and another in the 53rd minute.

Corbett fed freshman forward Makinzie Krebsbach (Vadnais Heights, Minn./Totino-Grace) to make it a 3-1 game midway through the second half, then scored off a pass from junior midfielder Carolyn Tallman (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) to bring the Bishops within 3-2 with 9:02 left in regulation time.

The Bishops turned up the offensive pressure during the closing minutes of regulation, but Capital keeper Linley Vermillion posted saves on shots by Corbett and senior forward Allie Cozzone (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) during the final minute of play.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Capital, 19-12. Sophomore Laura VanHoey (Rochester, Mich.) had 3 saves for Ohio Wesleyan. Vermillion finished with 7 saves for the Crusaders.
