Senior forward Michelle Corbett (Dublin/Scioto) scored a pair of first-half goals that started Ohio Wesleyan on its way to a non-conference win over Case Reserve on Saturday at Roy Rike Field.
Corbett gave the Bishops an early lead when she scored on a penalty kick in the eighth minute, then struck again midway through the first half, beating a pair of Spartan defenders before zipping a shot past Case Reserve keeper Kirsten McClain with 22:14 left in the period.
Senior forward Allie Cozzone (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) finished off the Ohio Wesleyan scoring by launching a 35-yard blast off a restart early in the second half.
Ohio Wesleyan outshot Case Reserve, 19-10. Sophomore Laura VanHoey (Rochester, Mich.) played the first 83-plus minutes in the Bishop goal, making 2 saves, and sophomore Ella Massie-Schuh (New York, N.Y./Brearley School) had 1 save during the final 6 minutes.
McClain finished with 8 saves in the CWRU goal.
