[ Makinzie Krebsbach ] Freshman forward Makinzie Krebsbach (Vadnais Heights, Minn./Totino-Grace) scored the game-winning goal during the first overtime period to lift Ohio Wesleyan over defending North Coast Athletic Conference champion Wittenberg in the Bishops' NCAC opener on Wednesday night in Springfield.

Ohio Wesleyan took a 1-0 lead late in the first half when freshman midfielder Jenny Howe (Newton, Mass./South) jumped on a loose ball and hit a shot into the left side of the Tiger net.

Wittenberg evened the game at 1-1 midway through the second half as Suzanne Medwid sent a corner kick into the box and Maggie Amorello headed it home with 20:42 left in regulation time.

In the first overtime period, Krebsbach fielded a pass from senior forward Michelle Corbett (Dublin/Scioto) near the top of the box and squeezed off a shot for the deciding goal.

Wittenberg outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 20-4. Sophomore Laura VanHoey (Rochester, Mich.) finished with 7 saves in the Bishop goal, including 5 during the second half alone. Jordan Bamberger had 1 save in the Tiger goal.
