![]() at NCAC championship Feb. 13, 2009 After the second day of competition, Denison was leading the meet with 1301 1/2 points to 1069 1/2 for Kenyon. Allegheny moved into third place with 618 points, followed by Wittenberg (587), Wooster (514), Oberlin (399), Hiram (315), and Ohio Wesleyan (310). Hanahan finished fifth in the 3-meter diving event, compiling a total of 293.50 points. Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley), who placed 12th in the 100 backstroke; sophomore Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), who was 16th in the 100 breaststroke; senior Tarenne Ferenchak (Haddonfield, N.J.), who finished 21st in the 400 IM; freshman Karen Lee (Hong Kong, China/Diocesan Girls' School), who placed 21st in the 100 breaststroke; senior Caitlin Hagen (East Lyme, Conn.), who finished 22nd in the 100 breaststroke; senior Megan Downing (Mentor/Gilmour Academy), who was 23rd in the 100 breaststroke and 24th in the 400 IM; and freshman Ali Russ (Shaker Heights), who placed 24th in the 200 freestyle. The Bishop 200 medley relay team of senior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina), Obuchowski, freshman Marina Metzler (Columbia, Md./Hammond), and Klossner finished seventh, while the 800 freestyle relay team of Klossner, freshman Kirstin Mowry (Centerville), Keleshian, and Russ placed eighth. The NCAC championship concludes on Saturday, with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. and finals commencing at 6:30 p.m. |
