7th of 8 at NCAC championship

[ Kendra Klossner ]Junior Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finish to lead the Bishops on the third and final day of the NCAC championship meet on Saturday in Canton.

Denison won the meet with 1740 1/2 points to 1609 1/2 for Kenyon. Allegheny finished third with 921 points, followed by Wooster (823), Wittenberg (806), Oberlin (612), Ohio Wesleyan (414), and Hiram (411).

Klossner finished ninth in the 200 backstroke, winning the "B" final in a time of 2:14.24.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Marina Metzler (Columbia, Md./Hammond), who placed 14th in the 200 butterfly; senior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina), who was 16th in the 200 backstroke; sophomore Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), who was 16th in the 200 breaststroke; freshman Ali Russ (Shaker Heights), who placed 22nd in the 100 freestyle; freshman Michelle Strong (Londonderry, N.H.), who was 24th in the 1650 freestyle; and senior Caitlin Hagen (East Lyme, Conn.), who finished 24th in the 200 breaststroke.

The Bishop 400 freestyle relay team of Klossner, Metzler, Russ, and Keleshian finished eighth.
