5th of 6 at Washington Invitational

[ Erin Hanahan ]Freshman Marina Metzler (Columbia, Md./Hammond), junior Erin Hanahan (Madison/Perry), and junior Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) posted Ohio Wesleyan's best individual finishes in leading the Bishops at the Thanksgiving Invitational, hosted by Washington University on Saturday and Sunday in St. Louis.

Host Washington won the meet with 733 points to 678 for Olivet. Lindenwood finished third with 677 points, followed by Albion (589), Ohio Wesleyan (453) and Hannibal-La Grange (195).

Metzler placed third in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 200 butterfly, while Hanahan was fourth in the 1-meter diving and sixth in the 3-meter diving, and Klossner finished fourth in the 200 backstroke.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Ali Russ (Shaker Heights), who placed sixth in the 100 freestyle; senior Megan Downing (Mentor/Gilmour Academy), who finished eighth in the 100 breaststroke and 10th in the 200 and 400 IM events; freshman Morgan Canup (Milford, Mich.), who was eighth in the 1-meter diving; freshman Karen Lee (Hong Kong, China/Diocesan Girls' School), who placed eighth in the 200 breaststroke; senior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina), who was ninth in the 1650 freestyle and 10th in the 100 backstroke; senior Caitlin Hagen (East Lyme, Conn.), who was ninth in the 100 breaststroke and 10th in the 200 breaststroke; sophomore Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), who was ninth in the 200 breaststroke; senior Katie Germano (Towaco, N.J./Montville Township), who finished ninth in the 200 butterfly; and sophomore Brenna Irrer (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), who placed 10th in the 1650 freestyle.

The quartet of Klossner, Keleshian, freshman Kirstin Mowry (Centerville) and Russ finished fourth in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays, while Klossner, Downing, Metzler and Russ combined to finish fourth in the 200 medley relay and fifth in the 400 medley relay.
