at Carroll Classic

Freshman Marina Metzler (Columbia, Md./Hammond) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's best finish at the first day of the Carroll Classic, hosted by John Carroll University on Saturday in University Heights.

Ohio Wesleyan was leading the meet with 611 points to 576 for John Carroll. Notre Dame was third with 557 points, followed by Marshall (457) and Urbana (26).

Metzler finished third in the 200 butterfly.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), who was fifth in the 100 breaststroke; sophomore Brenna Irrer (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), who placed fifth in the 200 butterfly; freshman Kirstin Mowry (Centerville), who was sixth in the 200 IM; senior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina), who was sixth in the 500 freestyle; senior Megan Downing (Mentor/Gilmour Academy), who finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke; and senior Katie Germano (Towaco, N.J./Montville Township), who finished sixth in the 200 butterfly.

Saturday's Results
