[ Tarenne Ferenchak ]Five Ohio Wesleyan swimmers won events to help the Bishops defeat Wilmington in a non-conference dual meet on Saturday at Pfeiffer Natatorium.

Senior Tarenne Ferenchak (Haddonfield, N.J.) won the 1000 freestyle in 12:14.28, freshman Ali Russ (Shaker Heights) won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.82 and added a second in the 200 freestyle, freshman Kirstin Mowry (Centerville) won the 50 freestyle in :26.98, sophomore Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville) won the 100 butterfly in 1:05.74, and senior Katie Keleshian (Richmond Heights/Regina) won the 100 freestyle in :59.46.

The Bishop 200 medley relay team of freshman Jill Simpson (Westerville/North), freshman Karen Lee (Hong Kong, China/Diocesan Girls' School), freshman Marina Metzler (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and junior Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's other first-place finish, winning its event in 1:59.09.

Other standouts for the Bishops included freshman Michelle Strong (Londonderry, N.H.), who finished second in the 1000 freestyle; Klossner, who was second in the 200 IM; senior Megan Downing (Mentor/Gilmour Academy), who finished second in the 100 freestyle; Metzler, who placed second in the 500 freestyle; Lee, who finished second in the 100 breaststroke; senior Kim Leary (Chagrin Falls), who was third in the 1000 freestyle; Simpson, who was third in the 200 IM; freshman Randi Savage (Delaware/Hayes), who placed third in the 100 butterfly; and senior Caitlin Hagen (East Lyme, Conn.), who was third in the 100 breaststroke.
