Freshman Amber Schneider (Shelburne, Vt./Rice), freshman Emily Kiourtsis (Pickerington/North), and sophomore Pam Quigney (Mentor) were double winners as Ohio Wesleyan wrapped up its spring trip with a non-conference win over Marian on Thursday in Hilton Head, S.C.
The win was the Bishops' fifth straight and completed a sweep of their Southern sojourn.
Schneider and Kiourtsis posted wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. Schneider won in straight sets, while Kiourtsis came back after losing the first set to win the second set and prevail in a super tiebreaker by a 12-10 margin.
Quigney rang up a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles and combined with freshman Mackenzie Conway (Marion/Pleasant) for an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
Junior Mollie Campbell (Burlington, Vt.) and freshman Becky Simon (Hilliard/Darby) recorded an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, and senior Kaitlin Moran (Chatham, N.J.) wrapped up the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
