Sophomore Pam Quigney (Mentor) was a double winner, but Mount Union edged Ohio Wesleyan in a non-conference match on Wednesday in Alliance.
Quigney won in straight sets at No. 4 singles and combined with freshman Mackenzie Conway (Marion/Pleasant) to post an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Junior Mollie Campbell (Burlington, Vt.) recorded a split-set win at No. 5 singles, defeating her Purple Raider opponent, 10-4, in a super tiebreaker after splitting the first 2 sets by scores of 4-6 and 6-2.
Senior Kaitlin Moran (Chatham, N.J.) wrapped up the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a split-set decision at No. 6 singles, winning by scores of 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
