Sophomore Rachael Newman (Strongsville), freshman Emma Lisull (Ann Arbor, Mich./Greenhills), and freshman Hannah Phlipot (Van Wert) won events to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Denison Last Chance Meet on Friday in Granville.
The meet was not scored.
Newman won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:20.92, Lisull won the mile run in 5:33.58, and Phlipot won the shot put with a throw of 39-1.
Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Christa Cocumelli (Dublin/Bishop Watterson), who was second in the 55-meter hurdles; junior Kara Reiter (Chardon), who finished second in the 800-meter run; freshman Chelsea Imm (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf), who placed second in the pole vault; sophomore Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve), who finished third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump; freshman Sam Smyth (Falmouth, Maine), who was third in the shot put; junior Ashlie Britton (LeRoy/Painesville Riverside), who finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles; sophomore Rowena Jones (Shutesbury, Mass./Amherst Regional), who was fourth in the 400-meter dash; sophomore Lindsay Dunbar (Marysville), who finished fourth in the 800-meter run; junior Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), who placed fourth in the shot put; and sophomore Audra Pohlman (Delaware/Hayes), who finished fifth in the shot put.
