Freshman Chelsea Imm (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) and sophomore Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) won events to lead Ohio Wesleyan at the Marv Frye Invitational on Saturday at the George Gauthier Track.
Otterbein won the meet with 137 points to 95 for runner-up Baldwin-Wallace. Oberlin was third with 93 points, followed by Capital (86), Ohio Wesleyan (71), Thiel (54), Albion (51), Muskingum (40), and Wilmington (36). Allegheny rounded out the top 10 finishers with 33 points, followed by Rose-Hulman (23), Bluffton (12), Kenyon (7), and Denison (0).
Imm won the pole vault by clearing 10-4. Her performance broke the school record of 10-1 1/4 set by Amy Fabritius in 2006.
Zimmerly won the 5000-meter run, finishing in a time of 18:24.59.
Other standouts for the Bishops included junior Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), who was second in the hammer and third in the discus; sophomore Christa Cocumelli (Dublin/Bishop Watterson), who was third in the 100-meter hurdles and seventh in the 400-meter hurdles; freshman Hannah Phlipot (Van Wert), who finished third in the shot put and eighth in the javelin; sophomore Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve), who tied for fifth in the high jump and placed eighth in the triple jump; senior Jessica Merrill (Columbia Station/Columbia), who placed seventh in the long jump and the triple jump; freshman Sam Smyth (Falmouth, Maine), who was eighth in the discus; sophomore Rowena Jones (Shutesbury, Mass./Amherst Regional), who placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles; and sophomore Jesi Dackin (Reynoldsburg), who finished eighth in the 5000-meter run.
The Bishop 1600-meter relay team of Jones, junior Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), junior Kara Reiter (Chardon), and junior Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) finished fifth, while the 400-meter relay team of junior Ashlie Britton (LeRoy/Painesville Riverside), Cocumelli, sophomore Chardae Spencer (Willowick/Eastlake North), and Kekic finished eighth.
