7th of 10 at Kenyon Invitational

[ Sharon Rymut ]Junior Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) won an event to lead the Bishops at the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday in Gambier.

Ohio Northern won the meet with 133 points to 113 for Otterbein. Heidelberg was third with 86 points, followed by Capital (76), Wooster (68), Muskingum (63), Ohio Wesleyan (59), Denison (50), Kenyon (40), and Ashland (34).

Rymut won the discus with a throw of 119-2 and added a seventh-place finish in the hammer.

Other standouts for the Bishops included sophomore Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve), who finished second in the 100-meter dash; freshman Hannah Phlipot (Van Wert), who finished third in the shot put and fifth in the javelin; sophomore Chardae Spencer (Willowick/Eastlake North), who was fourth in the triple jump and seventh in the high jump; freshman Chelsea Imm (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf), who finished fifth in the pole vault; sophomore Rowena Jones (Shutesbury, Mass./Amherst Regional), who finished sixth in the 200- and 400-meter dashes; freshman Sam Smyth (Falmouth, Maine), who was sixth in the discus and the shot put; senior Jessica Merrill (Columbia Station/Columbia), who finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles; junior Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), who finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles; and freshman Emma Lisull (Ann Arbor, Mich./Greenhills), who placed eighth in the 1500-meter run.
