3rd of 7 at GLCA championship meet

Freshman Emma Lisull (Ann Arbor, Mich./Greenhills) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Great Lakes Colleges Association championship meet, hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday in Oberlin.

Oberlin won the meet with 35 points to 54 for runner-up Hope. Ohio Wesleyan was third with 71 points, followed by Denison (109), Kalamazoo (159), Albion (160) and Earlham (170).

Lisull finished 10th among individuals, covering the 5000-meter course in 19:43.

Senior Leah Schmelzer (Marion/Pleasant) placed 13th in 19:48, freshman Allie Nichols (Mansfield/Lexington) finished 15th in 19:55, freshman Maggie O'Connell (Hingham, Mass.) placed 16th in 20:02, and sophomore Jesi Dackin (Reynoldsburg) finished off the Bishop scoring by placing 17th in 20:03.

Sophomore Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) was 20th in 20:10 and freshman Kate Battle (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) finished 28th in 20:27.49.
